Ok, so we start with a recap and oh yeah,

How could I forget the girl who was scared her boyfriend was going to murder her so she left a note in a bathroom? I dunno, but I did.

Every time I see a trucker I keep thinking of From Dusk Till Dawn. I need to remember that most truckers aren’t going to be slaughtered by vampires and that in these kinds of shows; it’s usually the truckers doing the slaughtering. (No offense to any real life truckers)

I foresee a truck versus car incident approaching. It’s hardly a fair fight but both the drivers sound like jerks. It the person the trucker has locked in the back of his truck that I feel sorry for though.

It seems Don Flack is still borrowing Danny’s old clothes and it doesn’t look like he’ll be wearing a suit anytime soon since his girlfriend was brutally killed. (I cried in that episode but I must confess, I had never taken the Angell/Flack relationship seriously because Flack still looked like he was crushing on his best friend Danny. I mean, whenever Flack got a girlfriend, Danny would just get more awesome or even hotter. In this pic from season 4 episode 3 Danny was teasing Flack about his current girlfriend (pre Angell) but I’m fairly sure Flack is just checking out Danny’s butt:



If you take the whole Flack/Angell thing seriously it’s even more tragic because he’s in love with his male best friend for like forever but Danny has a crush on another girl so when Flack moves on and gets serious with a female colleague, she gets deaded. Tragic.) Anyway...

But at least Don is making jokes, he’s got his Mac on this morning, which is way more powerful than a spidey sense and must be very powerful indeed because it makes Mac almost smile. And I gotta say, I love his glasses.

As much as I love Gary and CSI:NY, they often fail at the Grissom one-liner

And I like the credits include Danny with a gun but they lost smiley Danny. It’s like they’ve replaced cute with hot but why can’t we have both?



Oh Sheldon Hawkes, I do love you but why do you have to be called Hill in real life? I love you but you have a silly name.




It’s creepy Sid! Who is also rather awesome (so long as you’re not alone with him when he goes all creepy Doc on you)

Lots of photos of the wound on the victim’s flat stomach so I guess that’ll be important.

The camerawork is making me dizzy.



I know Danny and Lindsay are married but are they joined at the hip?

Also, should Danny be crouching like that since 6 episodes ago he only had a ten percent chance of walking again? I know the show did some time-skips for some random reason so I guess it has been a year or so. Does that mean the compass killer from season 5 has been killing for a year? Stupid unnecessary time skips!



I don’t mind Danny’s facial hair so much but I wish he kept the glasses.

And now Danny brings up the fact they never had a honeymoon? The time-skips have really screwed things up.

Ah, it’s was Repoman who harvested her liver. Actually, that would be kind of cool, this is just grim.

Huh? Danny’s walking with a cane again but he was fully mobile in the van. *facepalm*

Don’t be a Good Samaritan in a TV show, you usually end up dead or hurt.

Okay, so the hostage from the trucker’s van was a girl from Miami but not the same girl in the episode because she was blond and had her arm cut off? I really should have been paying more attention but it was Miami! *whimpers* the girl is pregnant? This would be a good lime for Lindsay to mention her baby (or not so baby now if you consider the time skips) girl. Poor Lucy.


WooT, Adam!



16 minutes in and we have Ray on a vid call and Stella telling Mac that. Yes Ray, you and Horatio wrapped up two murders in Miami, yay for you. Oh, the pregnant girl was the one who left the note in the bathroom. I REALLY should be paying more attention.

Didn’t the woman ask Horatio to find her daughter, not Ray? *shrugs*

What has Ray done to deserve stepping out of a helicopter in slow motion? With Mac to greet him.

Ha! Mac pawns Ray when it comes to getting down to business.

Why are we getting Ray exposition in CSI:NY? Mac and Ray bonding over their fathers and military issues. Mac doesn’t even really bond with his own team.

Seriously? Mac and Ray are walking off into the sunset in slow motion?

So they found the guy the dead girl’s liver is going to and Flack is nice enough to let the surgeon save the guy’s life before arresting him.




Hawkes is awesome when he’s pissed. As a Doc turned field investigator (ha, he pulled a Sanders!) he’s got every right to be annoyed with the surgeon for ignoring the Hippocratic Oath.

At the team meeting Ray does blend in very well, it’s more of an ensemble feel (although I am kind of distracted by Danny’s cane) at least verbally. Ray is on the other side of the table than the CSI:NY team.




Ha, I love how when Ray shoots down Danny’s idea Danny gives him a ‘***** please’ look.




And then Adam comes in and blows the case wide open. Gotta love that while Mac, Stella, Lindsay, Ray and Danny are talking it out, Adam’s being awesome and supplying their next hot lead.



Okay, this chase deserves a lot of screencaps because it is awesome.

Then the suspect locks the door after him. Even though Hawkes and Flack got their butts kicked, they still manage to be awesome. (Yes, I know I’m using that word far too much but they just are!)


CSI:NY has the coolest toys.


This is EDNA. A robot that does... er... stuff. It’s like sci-fi. Sid’s lab is the best though.



Yay for Danny’s catchphrase. ‘Boom’. He got a match to soil samples.


Flack is offering Ray and awesome gun and Ray’s turning it down. I mean, I’m a pacifist in real life but I would not turn down the gun Flack was offering him.



Ha, Mac practically orders him to take the gun (it is bigger than Mac’s though. More like a rifle)

Ray decides to bore Mac and Flack with a not very interesting tidbit about the origin of guns and some statement about evolution and society.

They didn’t kill the redshirt and Flack helps the redshirt the trucker shot. Bless.


*Sigh* so Ray hops onto a motorcycle, gets the suspect and saves the day, with a rifle on his back.




Mac does do a lot of chasing over cars though, so he still remains awesome.



Ray hasn’t taken any awesome from him.

What’s with the slow mo walking for a brief second?

More Mac/Ray bonding which I’ll ignore. And proof the girl is still alive and on her way to Vegas in the back of another truck with another evil driver.

Summary: I still think this storyline sucks. Despite the fact this episode is full of characters who are awesome the episode still felt blergh. Stella didn’t get to shine. There were a couple of really awesome chases (Danny can’t participate in those because of his cane but he’s perfectly okay to crouch down and manoeuvre around a van). It was all about the case and not about the characters apart from Ray. Is it too much to ask for an interesting case where our characters personalities shine through? I’m not looking forward to the conclusion :-(
