Antemortem Anything occurring before death








B Blood Spatter The higher the energy of the impact, the smaller the drops of blood.

Low velocity blood spatter Low velocity - Caused by impact to blood source at a rate of 5 feet per second; usually about 4 millimeters in diameter.
Cause(s): Free-falling blood, blows
Medium velocity blood spatter Medium velocity - Caused by impact to blood source at a rate of 5-25 feet per second; usually 1-3 millimeters in diameter.
Cause(s): Beatings, stabbings
High velocity blood spatter High velocity - Caused by impact to blood source in excess of 100 feet per second; usually less than 1 millimeter in diameter; mistlike.
Cause(s): Gunshots, explosions

Like RyderBPD said this is a great idea and it really helpd people understand in a little bit more depth. It also helps the tv show seem even more realistic afer most wors are understood.

I'm loving the Glossary! This will definitely help the community in our quest to accurately discuss our favorite show! I think it'll lend another degree of legitimacy to my fan fiction as well. :)
